Vernon Meyer obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1959 from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.
After obtaining his degree in civil engineering in 1959, Mr. Meyer worked five years for a Louisiana engineering firm where he specialized in surveys, preliminary studies, design and construction of paving, drainage, wastewater, and water projects.
In 1965 he established a business under the name of Vernon F. Meyer & Associates.
In 1974 he established Vernon F. Meyer & Associates, Inc., as a separate surveying firm and established Meyer & Associates, Inc., as a separate engineering firm. He currently serves as President of Meyer & Associates, Inc.
Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor in Louisiana, and Professional Engineer in Mississippi.

For many years he has generously supported children and youth through his compassion for the 4-H youth development organization by purchasing steers, hogs, goats, and chickens annually in a 5-parish radius. He has also supported unlimited amounts of sports teams, operation graduations, and partners in education as well as numerous non-profit organizations for the benefit of others.
Instrumental in establishing the “Coach Lasalle Williams Scholarship Program” for an annual scholarship of $1,000 for up to 4 years of college, to an African American student from Westlake High School.
Vernon F. Meyer has displayed exceptional leadership and management capabilities and has actively supported betterment of the engineering profession.
